Caterina Kennedy has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of British Columbia (1984-1988) and a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from the same university (1988-1990). Caterina also holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership (K-12) from Simon Fraser University (2001-2003). Caterina has worked as an Intermediate Classroom Teacher at St. Jude Elementary School (1990-2000), Principal at the same school (2000-2005), and Principal at St. Michael's Elementary School (2005-2022). Currently, Caterina holds the position of Director of Learning Support and Educational Consultant at Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) since July 2022.

The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese are group one independent schools, receiving 50% operational funding from the ministry of education. All schools teach the prescribed ministry of education curriculum. Teachers are paid according to the qualifications and years of experience. Teachers are also eligible for the Group Benefits Program that provides medical, dental, other extended health benefits, plus a defined contribution (DC) Group Pension Plan. Teachers interested in making a career with CISVA should apply to the Superintendent's Office. Support staff, including Education Assistants, should apply directly to the individual schools. It is the responsibility of each teacher applicant to ensure that the following documents accompany their application.
