Charbel Matar

Charbel Matar has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. Charbel is currently serving as the Head of Operations at Catholic Relief Services, where they oversee key operational functions to support the organization's mission. Prior to this, they worked at Danmission Middle East as a Programme Manager, responsible for coordinating and implementing programs funded by institutional donors in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Charbel also has experience working with the World Food Programme as a Programme Assistant and Monitoring Assistant, where they contributed to school feeding programs and conducted monitoring activities. Additionally, they have worked as a Community Energizer at Entreprenergy and as a Shadow Coach at Ithraa Center, providing coaching and support in building healthy relationships.

Furthermore, Charbel co-founded Wider Learning and served as a Co-founder, Training, and Business Developer. Charbel also worked as a Research Associate at Zawya - Thomson Reuters, where they contributed to equity capital market research and maintained the company database.

Earlier in their career, Charbel held the position of Minister of Education and Culture in the Youth Shadow Government and worked as an Admission Office Assistant at Notre Dame University - Louaize. Charbel also gained internship experience at Banque du Liban.

Charbel Matar's education history includes a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Economics from Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU) from 2007 to 2011. Charbel then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Psychology from NDU from 2012 to 2017. Charbel later obtained a Diploma in CREDO from Saint Joseph University of Beirut from 2014 to 2018. In 2023, Charbel attended King's College London for a short-term course in Public Policy and Behavioral Science titled "Behavioural Insights and Government Policy course; International School for Government".
