Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing, Patient Communications & Engagement at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where they developed a comprehensive communications strategy using multiple channels to enhance the patient experience. Before that, they held the position of Senior Director of Digital Communications at NYU Langone Health, where they played a crucial role in the organization's digital transformation initiative. In addition, Allyson has worked as a freelance medical writing and editing consultant for various organizations and publications, including writing for MIT Technology Review and serving as a science writer for conferences and research organizations. Allyson has also gained experience in web content management and public relations at organizations like the Hospital for Special Surgery and the National Eye Institute.

Allyson Collins has a MS degree in Science Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Allyson also has a BA degree in Magazine Journalism and Biology from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. In addition, they hold certifications as an Innovation Practitioner from GIANT Innovation and a Writing/Editing Certificate from the American Medical Writers Association.
