James O'Brien

James O'Brien serves as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Catholic Health since January 2011, overseeing legal affairs for a health system with approximately 16,000 employees and multiple care facilities. Previously, James held the position of Deputy General Counsel, focusing on labor and employment law and managing litigation for the healthcare system. Prior to Catholic Health, James was a Partner at Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP, leading the management-side labor and employment group, and held a similar role at Nixon Peabody LLP, where responsibilities included representing management in labor and employment law matters. James earned a Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School in 1994 and a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Hamilton College in 1991.
