Brian Weichel

Brian Weichel is an experienced engineering executive with a strong background in software development and engineering operations. Currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Cato since July 2025, Brian previously held the same title at Zitti Inc. from 2022 to 2024, where responsibilities included managing software development and recruitment while successfully launching two products. As Director of Engineering at SchoolAdmin (2019-2022), Brian established a Kanban engineering process to enhance quality during product expansion. Prior roles include Director of Software Development at Oracle, where Brian led large teams in delivering projects using Agile methodologies, and founding Involver's Austin office, overseeing critical customer relationships and team development. Brian has also directed engineering at Fluid and Quadraspec, authored a successful business plan prior to Quadraspec's founding, and began a career at Motorola as a software engineer focused on high-availability systems. Brian holds a BS in Engineering, Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Purdue University Daniels School of Business.
