Nino Robakidze

Nino Robakidze serves as the IREX Georgia Country Director and the SAFE Initiative Europe Center Manager, leading efforts to ensure the safety of media practitioners and human rights defenders in challenging environments since July 2017. Nino has been a lecturer at Caucasus University’s Caucasus School of Media since September 2009 and has contributed as a trainer at the School of Democracy with EECMD since 2011. Nino held a board member position with the Equality Movement from September 2020 to September 2023, focusing on ethical governance and support for the LGBTQ community in the South Caucasus. Previously, Nino worked as a Senior Program Manager at Transparency International Georgia, supervising research and advocacy initiatives related to media freedom and expression. Nino's editorial experience includes serving as Editor in Chief at "Closer - თქვენ გვერდით" magazine and has also held various roles in journalism and media analysis. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Journalism from GIPA and a Bachelor's degree in International Journalism from Tbilisi State University.
