Cartic Ramakrishnan

Cartic Ramakrishnan has extensive work experience in various roles related to AI and ML. Cartic'smost recent position was as the Vice President and Head of Applied AI at Causaly starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Vice President and Technical Product Manager AI/ML at Genpact from 2020 to 2022.

Before their roles at Causaly and Genpact, Cartic worked at IBM in multiple positions. Cartic was the Chief AI Scientist for Watson Health Life Sciences from 2019 to 2020, a Senior Technical Staff Member from 2018 to 2020, and a Lead Architect & Research Scientist from 2013 to 2017.

Earlier in their career, Cartic worked as a Research Scientist at DataPop from 2012 to 2013 and as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Information Sciences Institute - University of Southern California from 2010 to 2012. Cartic also served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center from 2008 to 2010.

Cartic's work experience also includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at Wright State University from 2007 to 2008, where they developed algorithms for entity and relationship extraction from text. Cartic was also a Research Intern at IBM in 2006 and held various positions as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Georgia from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, they worked as a Research Intern at the National Library of Medicine, NIH in 2004.

Overall, Cartic has a strong background in AI and ML, with experience in leadership roles, technical product management, research, and development of algorithms for data extraction and analysis.

Cartic Ramakrishnan earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Maharashtra Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Georgia from 1999 to 2001. Cartic then went on to complete their Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Georgia from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, they obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Wright State University from 2007 to 2008. Cartic Ramakrishnan also holds certification as an IBM Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM.
