John-Paul Mead

John-Paul Mead has a diverse work experience in the medical field. John-Paul currently serves as the Medical Director at Cayuga Addiction Recovery Service. In the past, they held various roles at Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, including Chief Medical Information Officer, Past President of Medical Staff, and Chair of Performance Improvement. John-Paul also served as the Medical Director at Cayuga Health Partners and the Alcohol and Drug Council of Tompkins County, Inc. In addition, they worked as a Hospitalist, Assistant Medical Director, and Medical Director of Internal Medicine at Cayuga Medical Associates, PC. John-Paul Mead is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and has been involved in various medical organizations, such as the New York eHealth Collaborative and Tompkins County Medical Society. John-Paul also contributed to the COVID response as a physician at Ny Presbyterian Med Ctr. Overall, they have a strong background in medical leadership and patient care.

John-Paul Mead has an extensive education history. John-Paul obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1988 to 1993. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended the NYU Grossman School of Medicine from 1994 to 1998 and earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, specializing in Medicine.

In 2001, John-Paul Mead obtained certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in International Public Health/International Health at The George Washington University from 2021 to 2023.

In addition to their degrees, they also hold certifications in Subspecialty Certification in Addiction Medicine from the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) which they obtained in December 2020.
