Micael Speirs has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being the Director of Special Education at the Cazenovia Central School District. Prior to that, they worked as a School Psychologist at the same district. Micael also served as a School Psychologist at Chittenango Middle School for six years. Micael gained experience as a School Psychology Intern at Chittenango Central School and as an Individual Service Provider at Residential Resources, where they provided support and guidance to a teenager with developmental disabilities. Micael also completed an internship at Nexus at SUNY Plattsburgh, where they worked as a counselor for children with autism spectrum disorders. Micael Speirs completed their Bachelor's degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Rochester from 2003 to 2007. Micael then pursued a Master's degree in School Psychology at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Micael recently completed a certificate in Educational Leadership at the State University of New York Cortland, however, the start year for this program is not specified. Additionally, they hold additional certifications including a School Psychologist, Permanent Certificate obtained from the New York State Department of Education in January 2019, and a Private Pilot's License - ASEL obtained from the FAA in June 2013.
