Tara de Boer

Tara De Boer is a professional writer and researcher currently working with CBC Sports as a Writer/Researcher for Olympic features since November 2023. Alongside this role, Tara serves as a professional freelancer for Toronto Life Magazine, where responsibilities include reporting, writing, editing, and fact-checking. Previously, Tara worked as a Digital News Writer at CTV News and held positions as a journalist and podcast producer at the Ryerson Review of Journalism. Additional experience includes roles as a research assistant at Ryerson University and chase producer at CBC/Radio-Canada, covering breaking news. Tara's background also features editorial writing at Easy Sundays and serving as a teaching assistant in the Speech Communication program at the University of Waterloo. Formerly, Tara was a communications specialist at iVirtual Technologies and served as a sports editor at Imprint. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Journalism from Ryerson University, a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Business from the University of Waterloo, and a certificate in podcasting from the College of Sports Media.
