Piumal Jayasooriya

Piumal Jayasooriya is an experienced professional specializing in automation and engineering management, currently serving as the Group Projects Manager for Automation at Ceylon Biscuits Limited since January 2009. Responsibilities include overseeing large-scale factory automation, capacity enhancement, and process improvement projects across more than eleven local and overseas manufacturing facilities within the CBL Group. Piumal leads a team of over ten project engineers, focusing on the development of new automated machinery, process improvements, and new product development facilitation. Prior roles at Ceylon Biscuits Limited include Group Projects Engineer, Projects Engineer, Assistant Engineer in Packaging, and Engineering Trainee. Piumal's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Management from Coventry University and a National Diploma in Engineering Science with a focus on Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Engineering Technology in Sri Lanka.
