Virpi Tuupanen

Virpi Tuupanen has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Virpi is currently a Member of the Board at the Finnish Council of Shopping Centers since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as Deputy Member of the Board from April 2021 to April 2023.

From 2019 to present, Virpi worked at CBRE Finland, where they held various roles. Virpi was the Shopping Centre Director / CEO - Kaari, overseeing the operation of the shopping center and supervising a team of 8 managers. Virpi also served as the Shopping Centre Manager / CEO for Goodman and Like shopping centers, responsible for management, development, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Before joining CBRE Finland, Virpi owned and managed Maalausliike Tuupanen Oy, a painting company, from May 2018 onwards.

Virpi has also held positions at various organizations such as Hämeen kauppakamari | Häme Chamber of Commerce, where they served as a Member of the Committee on Trade and Services from January 2021 to December 2022. Virpi was also a Member of the Board at Hämeenlinna City Center Association from January 2020 to December 2022.

Virpi's earlier experiences include working as an Area Manager, Retail at UFF U-landshjälp från Folk till Folk i Finland sr, where they were responsible for sales, profit, and personnel management. Virpi also worked as a Category Manager at SOK, managing the assortment and sales of own product areas in various market chains.

Virpi'scareer began as a Sales Assistant at Seppälä Oy, where they were responsible for women's underwear product customization and sales monitoring in stores.

Prior to that, Virpi worked at Tejado Oy (Lasessor Oy) as a Product Manager, Office Manager, and Responsible for Import. Virpi also served as an Insurance Agent at Vahinkovakuutusosakeyhtiö Kansa.

Overall, Virpi Tuupanen has extensive experience in various roles within the retail, management, and board positions in different organizations.

Virpi Tuupanen began their education at Hyvinkää Business College from 1992 to 1994, where they pursued a program in the Secretary Program and obtained the degree of yo-merkonomi. After that, they enrolled at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (Tradenomi) with a major in Logistics from 2004 to 2008. In 2010 and 2011, they attended the Open University of Aalto and took Master's degree courses in Marketing and Management, earning 33 credits. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (Tradenomi, ylempi AMK) in the Program of Entrepreneurship and Business Competence at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences from 2011 to 2013. In 2012, they enrolled in the M.Sc. Program of Retail and Services at the Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku, and successfully completed it in 2015, earning a Master of Science (Economics) degree. During their education, in 2014, Virpi Tuupanen took an E-commerce Course at Kaupan liitto and also completed the SOK Consumer Goods Sourcing Academy in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, earning 6 credits, at LUT University.
