George Benjamin Newbern

George Benjamin Newbern is an accomplished individual with a strong background in economics and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as an Ambassador at Earth Brands, Newbern facilitates collaboration between a student-founded national environmental organization and local businesses in Evanston, IL, aiming to reduce ecological impacts. As Social Chair and Eco Chair for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Newbern organizes recycling schedules and implements composting initiatives. In the role of Business Manager for THUNK A Cappella, Newbern synthesizes financial statements and coordinates events for future profit. Additional experience includes membership in the Northwestern Undergraduate Real Estate Club and positions as a server at Milo and Olive and a design assistant at Third Way Clothing, where sustainability research and quality control were key responsibilities. Newbern is expected to earn a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Northwestern University in 2025, following a Summa Cum Laude graduation from Loyola High School of Los Angeles and coursework at UCLA Extension.
