Jona Bootsma

Jona Bootsma is an experienced communications professional currently serving as a Persvoorlichter for the CDA Tweede Kamerfractie and the upcoming elections campaign since August 2025. Prior to this role, Jona worked as a media and policy advisor for MEP Tom Berendsen at the European Parliament from May 2023 to August 2025, and served as the spokesperson for the Dutch Minister of Education Dennis Wiersma at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science from October 2022 to May 2023. Jona's background also includes serving as a spokesperson and press officer for both Minister Ernst Kuipers and Minister Hugo de Jonge at the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, and as a PR consultant and content creator for JG Media Productions. Jona has experience in radio as a presenter for NPO Radio 1 and has held editorial roles at Endemol Shine Group and BNNVARA. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Political Culture & National Identity and a Bachelor's degree in History from Leiden University.
