Fred Thomas III

Fred Thomas III, MPA, PCC, SPHR, is a seasoned Federal Senior Executive who presently serves as the Deputy Director for Management, Operations, Communications, and Policy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this role, they oversee an $821 million budget and a workforce exceeding 600 staff, dedicated to advancing public health through strategic leadership and operational excellence. Fred has held several human resources positions at various federal agencies, including the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, where they focused on employee and labor relations and organizational effectiveness. Additionally, Fred is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Public Administration from Bethune-Cookman University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, respectively, while also serving as a Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.
