Kostas Petritis

Kostas Petritis serves as the Laboratory Chief at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since July 2017, following a tenure as Principal Investigator at Phoenix Children's Hospital from November 2014 to June 2017. Prior to that, Kostas worked as a Senior Investigator at the Arizona Department of Health Services and held an Adjunct Professorship at Arizona State University, both from January 2014 to June 2017. Earlier experience includes an Associate Professorship and Laboratory Head position at the Translational Genomics Research Institute, and a Senior Research Scientist role at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where Kostas specialized in proteomics. Kostas also began a career in research with a position as a Scientist at VIORYL CHEMICAL & AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY in 1996. Educational qualifications include a Post-Doctorate in Proteomics from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, and a Master's degree in the same field from Université d'Orléans. Research interests encompass biomarker development, proteomics, cell signaling, pharmacokinetics, and mass spectrometry quantitation.
