Kun Zhang holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services Research and Health Policy from Emory University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Renmin University of China. Currently serving as a Senior Health Scientist in the Division of Overdose Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since June 2011, Kun Zhang has contributed to research focused on the medical costs of diseases and conditions through the analysis of MarketScan claims data and the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. Additionally, as a guest researcher at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, research has centered on prescription drug overdose using MarketScan commercial claims and encounters data. Prior to this role, Kun Zhang worked as a Research Assistant at Emory University School of Public Health, utilizing Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse Medicare claims data and Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey data.
