Matthew Hogben

Senior Research And Innovations Officer

Matthew Hogben is a Senior Research and Innovations Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a position held since August 1999. In this role, Matthew develops a portfolio of health and disease prevention activities with an emphasis on pragmatic and applied science, including implementation studies and clinical trials, while also prioritizing prevention and health equity impacts. Matthew oversees a team of 15-20 professionals conducting behavioral, structural, and social-level intervention and observational research. Prior to this, Matthew completed a research fellowship in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, focusing on STD and HIV prevention. Matthew earned a PhD in Social Psychology from the University at Albany and a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
