Charlie McCarthy, PE, PMP, CVP is an experienced ITS Project Manager at CDM Smith since March 2024, with a background in transportation engineering and analytics. Previously, Charlie served as a Senior ITS Analytics Manager and Systems Engineer at TranSmart from March 2015 to February 2024, and earlier held roles as a Traffic Project Engineer at TERRA Engineering, Ltd., and as a Civil Engineering Intern at Alfred Benesch & Company and the Village of Arlington Heights. In addition to engineering, Charlie is a percussionist and a member of the band doc, which originated in Champaign-Urbana. Charlie's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
