Amy Barnes

Ms. Amy Barnes has over 20-years of a proven track record fostering strong relationships across local, state and federal government, and related agencies. Ms. Barnes has multifaceted experience working with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Her vast skills are set in community and economic development, project planning and management, public funding packaging, program management, program marketing, state and federal grant programs, state budgeting and the legislative process.

Ms. Barnes held various positions for the Office of the Governor in the Department for Local Government (DLG), which administers various state and federal grant programs including approximately $22 million annually from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. During her tenure there, she served as the Executive Director for the Office of Federal and State Grants, Branch Manager for Coal Development Branch in the Office of State Grants and as an Executive Assistant for the Kentucky Community Development Office. During her time as Executive Director for the Office of Federal and State Grants, she served as a member of the agency’s Executive Management team and managed the administration and distribution of the agency’s federal and state funding portfolio. Ms. Barnes’ area of expertise in project development, administration, grant writing, strategic planning, and public policy makes her an invaluable asset to the CDR Maguire team and our clients.
