Angela Lay is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in human resources and animal care management. As the Human Resources Manager at CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services since March 2019, Angela oversees HR operations and employee relations. Prior to this role, Angela served as the Quality and Purchasing Manager at ELISA Technologies, Inc., where responsibilities included conducting ISO 17025 compliant audits and managing laboratory quality systems between February 2012 and February 2019. Earlier experience includes managing animal care at Alachua County Humane Society from 2009 to 2012, supporting veterinary operations as a Technician and Client Service Coordinator from 2007 to 2009, and caring for exotic animals as a Zookeeper from 2003 to 2005. Angela holds an Associate of Science in Zoo Animal Technology and an Associate of Arts in Zoology/Animal Biology from Santa Fe College, and further education from the University of Central Florida.

CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc. is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit social services agency that has provided services in North Central Florida for over 53 years. While CDS’s many individual programs serve a wide variety of community needs, they all fall under the umbrella of the organization’s mission statement, “Empowering Youth & Building Strong Families for a Brighter Tomorrow.” The three main programs areas include: Youth Shelters – Programs for youth in crisis Counseling – Services for troubled youth and their families Prevention – Educating the community, focusing on substance abuse and high-risk populations CDS has offices in Gainesville, Lake City and Palatka and its services now cover an eleven county area, including: Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Suwannee, Levy, Putnam and Union. CDS is the sole provider of many of its services, such as runaway shelters, in North Central Florida.
