Cédric Auliac

Head Of The Artificial Intelligence Program at CEA

Cédric Auliac has a diverse range of work experience in the field of artificial intelligence and data science. Cédric started their career as a Junior Data Scientist at CEA in 2009 and later transitioned to the role of Senior Data Scientist from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, they became a Project Manager in Artificial Intelligence at CEA, where they sourced, designed, and managed R&D projects for large firms and SMEs across various industries.

From 2018 to 2019, Cédric worked as a Venture Capital AI expert at Supernova Invest, a DeepTech Venture Capital firm appointed by CEA. Cédric provided technical and strategic support in the analysis of 100 start-ups claiming to offer disruptive AI and data science technologies. This led to the technical due diligence of 4 candidates operating in different industries.

Cédric also worked at Genopôle & Evry University from 2004 to 2008, where they were a Doctoral Fellow in Machine Learning. Cédric led a multidisciplinary project supporting bio-tech laboratories in identifying gene functionalities using tailored machine-learning approaches. Additionally, they served as a teaching assistant and gave data-analysis lectures to Bachelor and Master degree students.

Prior to that, Cédric was a Graduate Research Intern in Machine Learning at Pierre et Marie Curie University from 2003 to 2004. During this time, they studied the use of probabilistic graphical models and kernel methods for the identification of complex relationships among measured entities, such as non-linear dependencies in companies' stocks based on their shares prices.

Most recently, Cédric is the Head of the Data Intelligence Unit at CEA, a position they held from 2020 to 2022. Cédric then transitioned to the role of Head of the Artificial Intelligence program starting from 2023.

Cédric Auliac holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Strategy from HEC Paris, which they obtained from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Machine Learning & Systems Biology at Université d'Évry from 2004 to 2008. Cédric also holds a Master's degree in Computational Biology & Biostatistics from Université Paris-Saclay, which they completed from 2001 to 2003.
