Michael Roukes

Michael Roukes has a diverse work experience in the fields of nanoscience and physics. Michael is a Co-Founder and Scientific Advisory Board member at Analytical Pixels since 2011. Michael also co-founded and served as the Science & Technology Director at Alliance for Nanosystems VLSI. Michael has worked as a Visiting Scientist at CEA/LETI and Bell Laboratories. At the California Institute of Technology, they held multiple roles including Frank J. Roshek Professor of Physics, Applied Physics, & Bioengineering, Co-Director and Founding Director of the Kavli Nanoscience Institute. Michael was the Co-Director of TEDxCaltech and was involved in Nanotechnica Corporation as the CTO and Founder. Michael started their career at Bell Communications Research and was a Design Team Member at Cornell University.

Michael Roukes earned their Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University, where they studied from 1978 to 1985. Prior to this, they completed a BA in Physics and Chemistry as a double major at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1974 to 1978.
