Daril Vilhena

Daril Vilhena is the Co-CEO of Cedar.AI. Daril was previously a Senior Data Scientist at Amazon Web Services from November 2013 to June 2017. At Amazon, they were at the forefront of research in network capacity planning at scale. Daril authored 15 internal research papers and 2 patents related to solutions to critical problems in the industry, such as build plans for peering connectivity and backbone design. Daril's forecasting system helped prioritize $2B+ spend annually. Daril also developed an AI-driven placement of server racks in datacenters, based on server-level demand modeling, to load balance network utilization at scale. Daril led multiple projects that unlocked 9 figure savings potential through better network utilization efficiency.

Daril Vilhena has a PhD in Mathematical Biology/Interdisciplinary from the University of Washington. Daril also has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematical Biology with a Math Minor from the University of Pennsylvania.
