Sarah J. Malchow, CFRE has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries.
From 2019 to the present, they serve as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Cedar Community, where they lead teams in sales, marketing, fundraising, and independent living divisions, contributing to an annual revenue of over $35 million. Sarah J. supports enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, manages communications and public relations, cultivates donors, and focuses on delivering exceptional customer service.
Prior to this, from 2016 to 2019, Sarah worked at the United Way of Washington County as the Senior Director of Community Impact/Director of Community Impact. Here, they collaborated with community leaders and partner agencies to address the county's health and human service needs in the areas of Education, Income, and Health.
In 2017 and 2018, they worked as the Chief Administrative Officer for Katherine Gehl, supporting their academic and political reform work with Dr. Michael Porter at Harvard Business School.
Sarah's earlier experiences include roles at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, and Lutheran Women's Missionary Society. At these organizations, they held positions such as Director of Annual Giving, Campaign Coordinator, Feasibility Study Coordinator, Communications and Development Coordinator, and Executive Director/Associate Executive Director. Sarah J. Malchow, CFRE, received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, which they attended from 1995 to 1996. In terms of additional certifications and memberships, they obtained the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification from CFRE International in September 2020. Sarah J. also became a Professional Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southeastern Wisconsin (AFP SEWI) in June 2008.
