Chelcie Smith is an experienced educator specializing in special education, currently serving as a Special Educator and Assistant Campus Testing Coordinator at Cedar Hill ISD since August 2021. Prior experience includes working as an Education Specialist at Caliber Public Schools, managing IEPs and facilitating IEP meetings for a caseload of 26 students, and leading the Special Education Department at Uplift Education, where leadership and mentorship were key responsibilities. Chelcie also has a background as a Primary Special Education Teacher and Teaching Assistant, focusing on communication with families and collaborative lesson planning. Early career experience includes providing care and education for young children at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University.
