Sylvain Couillard

Sylvain Couillard is an experienced educator and professional in the field of engineering and quality assurance. Currently serving as a Teacher in Technology of Mechanical Engineering at Cégep du Vieux Montréal since September 2022, Sylvain is also a recurring guest speaker at École de technologie supérieure, sharing valuable work methodologies in course ELE 400. Sylvain's industry experience includes roles such as Project Manager in Operational Excellence at The Kraft Heinz Company, and Manager of Continuous Improvement at GAB-Induspac, where significant efficiency improvements were achieved using Lean techniques. Previous positions include Quality Assurance Manager at Morgan Schaffer, where improvements in calibration and repair times were noted, and Consultant at SCL Medtech, where an ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory was implemented. Sylvain has a solid educational background with a Graduate Certificate in Teaching for Higher Education from UQAM, an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Calgary, and a B Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal.
