Omar Garcia Valdez

Omar Garcia Valdez, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at Celanese since November 2022, having previously held similar positions in Celanese Engineered Materials and GreenCentre Canada. With extensive research experience, Omar has focused on polymerization processes and the development of sustainable materials, including bio-based acrylic thermoplastic elastomers and green plasticizers. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from CIQA, complemented by postdoctoral research at Queen's University and McGill University. Omar has a solid foundation in chemical engineering, holding a Bachelor's degree from Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila and a Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry from Centro de Investigación en Química Aplicada.
