Tatiana M. Clemente

Tatiana M. Clemente has a strong academic and research background. Tatiana started their work experience as a Student Fellow for the PET - Programa de Educação Tutorial from August 2008 to July 2011. After that, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia from January 2009 to June 2012, where they were involved in multiple projects on the pathogenesis of chronic Chagas disease.

From July 2012 to June 2016, Tatiana worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo. During this time, they conducted research on potential therapeutic targets to treat Chagas disease and presented their experimental findings at national meetings and international conferences.

Following their graduate research assistant role, Tatiana served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Indiana University School of Medicine from July 2016 to October 2020. Tatiana played a crucial role in investigating how intracellular bacteria manipulate the host endolysosomal system and identified a novel bacterial immune evasion mechanism. Tatiana also collaborated on a study exploring the effects of inhaled alkaline medication on SARS-CoV-2 replication in human airway epithelial cells.

From November 2020 to March 2023, Tatiana worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. During this time, they obtained an American Heart Association Postdoctoral fellowship and conducted research on the mechanisms employed by intracellular bacteria (Coxiella burnetii) to ensure their survival within the host. Tatiana authored a book chapter and an article review on host-pathogen interactions and presented their experimental findings at national conferences.

Most recently, Tatiana joined Celerion as a Scientist in April 2023.

Tatiana M. Clemente's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, which they obtained from 2008 to 2012. During the same period, they also completed a Teaching Licensure in Biology/Biological Sciences at the same institution. In 2014 to 2015, Tatiana pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Research at Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo. Finally, from 2012 to 2016, they attended Unifesp and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology. In addition, they acquired a certification in Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials from The Johns Hopkins University in November 2020.
