Santiago Sotomayor has a diverse work experience in various software engineering roles. Santiago started their career at Doppler, where they worked as a Developer/Programmer, focusing on web applications and scripting using technologies such as xHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, C#.NET, and MS SQL Server 2005. Santiago also handled UI implementation and modifications of WordPress themes for both company and client sites.
Santiago then worked at Globant as an Actionscript Developer for a brief period. Later, when Globant acquired Nextive Solutions and converted it into its Mobile Studio, they became a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they were involved in the development of several software projects, such as Sears Health & Wellness, an AngularJS application developed to promote one of Sears Holdings' shops. Santiago worked with an international team and used technologies like Grunt, Yeoman, and LESS.
After that, they joined Nextive Solutions as a Lead Frontend Developer, where they primarily used Actionscript 3 and MXML/PHP to develop social games for Facebook and mobile phones. Santiago also worked on web service development using the AMFPHP framework and conducted tests and interviews for new PHP applicants.
Santiago then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at several companies, including SHOPBEAM, BitPay Inc., OneUp Sports, and Agile Wings. In these roles, they maintained, fixed bugs, and implemented new features for various platforms and applications. Santiago used technologies such as NodeJS, AngularJS, HTML5, Jade, Gulp, and Mocha.
Most recently, Santiago worked at MindGeek as a Senior Software Engineer, where they focused on developing and maintaining apps using AngularJS, ReactJS, and Java backend. Santiago worked on products like Traffic Junky and ATLAS, where they fixed bugs, optimized the applications, and developed new features.
Currently, Santiago holds the position of Lead Engineer at Cell-Ed. Their responsibilities include full-stack engineering, some management tasks, and creating deployments for every release using GitFlow and branching standards.
Santiago Sotomayor obtained an Associate's Degree in Information & Technology and Economics from Escuela de Educacion Tecnica Nº5. Santiago attended this school from 2004 to 2007. In August 2018, Santiago also obtained a certification in React from Udacity.
