Umesh A. Patel

Umesh A. Patel has had a long and successful career in the Life Sciences industry. Umesh A. began their career in 1996 as Managing Director and Co-founder of Cytomyx in Cambridge, UK, where they developed a leading automated ion channel electrophysiology screening and profiling services for safety & selectivity of new drugs. In 2006, they moved to Merck Millipore where they held three different roles, Director of Systems Biology, Director of Lead Discovery, and Director of R&D. In 2015, they were appointed as Director of Business Development, USA for Cell Guidance Systems. Most recently, in 2012, they became Chief Executive Officer of Mayflower Bioscience, where they built a vessel to connect emerging European companies and their innovative Life Science research technologies to US scientists.

Umesh A. Patel obtained their Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Portsmouth between 1985 and 1989.
