Joon Mo Yang

Joon Mo Yang is a highly experienced engineer specializing in systems architecture and microfluidics, with extensive expertise in the development of next-generation DNA sequencing instruments and mRNA therapeutics. Currently serving as a Staff Systems Engineer at Cellares since February 2022, Joon previously held roles including Principal Systems Engineer at Nutcracker Therapeutics and Sr. Manager/Sr. Staff Engineer at Complete Genomics Inc., where significant contributions were made to high-throughput DNA sequencers. Prior positions include Sr. Staff Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Staff Engineer at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies, focusing on advanced sequencing technologies. Joon's career began with developing microfluidic systems at Nanogen, Genoptix, and UCLA, culminating in a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Fluid Mechanics from Seoul National University.
