Heather Mahalik Barnhart is the Senior Director of Community Engagement at Cellebrite since August 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Senior Director of Digital Intelligence at Cellebrite from July 2019 to August 2023. Before joining Cellebrite, they worked at SANS Institute as the SANS DFIR Curriculum Lead, Faculty Fellow Instructor, and co-author of FOR585 starting from July 2010. From October 2014 to July 2019, they served as the Director of Forensic Engineering at ManTech International Corporation (formerly known as Oceans Edge). Heather also has experience as the Mobile Device Group Technical Lead/On-Site Manager/Business Development Manager at Basis Technology from February 2009 to September 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Digital Forensic Examiner at Stroz Friedberg, LLC from June 2006 to February 2009. Before that, they held roles as a Computer Forensic Analyst II and III at Trinity IMS - Diplomatic Security Service Contractor from January 2004 to June 2006, and as a Computer Forensic Analyst I at ManTech from December 2002 to January 2004.
Heather Mahalik Barnhart has a strong educational background in forensic science and leadership principles. Heather obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic and Investigative Science from West Virginia University in 2002. Heather also pursued further education in leadership principles through Harvard Business School Online. Additionally, they have certifications in various areas of digital forensics, including CCO and CCPA from Cellebrite, GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics (GASF) and GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) from GIAC, Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), and EnCE from OpenText.
