Senior Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the technology infrastructure at our San Carlos manufacturing facility. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of our systems and services, provides technical support to users and staff, and adheres to policies and procedures to efficiently handle daily tasks and projects. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred for this role to understand and meet the unique IT needs of our operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support computers, mobile devices, networks, hardware, and software, including, but not limited to, servers, workstations, laptops, switches, routers, access points, and printers as needed; construct, implement, and continually mature processes and policies to ensure the company’s IT environment continues to operate smoothly in the event of a problem; Install, configure, and support network-enabled production equipment as needed; develop new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime, increase redundancy, and decrease ongoing costs.
  • Create rational strategies for upgrading the company’s hardware and software while minimizing or eliminating impact on manufacturing functions.
  • Provision new computer equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, accessories, etc.) as needed and ensure deployed solutions are compliant with all IT policies, procedures, and security requirements.
  • Work closely with other department managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s technology. Also, partner with the operations team and other critical business units; anticipate business needs, and deploy technical solutions within the required project timelines. 
  • Manage relationship with a third-party IT Managed Services Partner (MSP); ensure successful onboarding and offboarding of employees while adhering to IT best practices and requirements; make case-by-case decisions, and depend on mission criticality of task or request.
  • Work with the Director of IT to construct and implement plans to ensure the company’s network continues to operate smoothly in the event of an incident or outage.
  • Stay current with new IT technology and regularly recommend infrastructure improvements to leadership and the IT steering committee.
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems, or 5+ years of combined experience and professional knowledge.
  • Experience supporting a high-security environment and agilely addressing issues and problems related to security.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Knowledge of the principles of PC Operating System support.
  • Analytical problem-solving and advanced troubleshooting of hardware, software, integrations, and applications.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate on a 1-to-1 basis and with groups to obtain and provide information related to user needs.
  • Knowledge of computer, network, and site security systems, procedures, and techniques.
  • Windows desktop and server experience.
  • Good prioritization skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a large, multi-site manufacturing organization is preferred.
    • Hands-on experience with manufacturing data systems and integration, including, but not limited to, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and integration of production machinery with other systems to provide relevant data and metrics downstream is preferred.

Location: San Carlos, CA (onsite)

Personal Protective Equipment 

PPE will be provided and is required to be used within certain areas of the manufacturing floor.

Work Environment

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines.

The base pay is just one part of CelLink's total compensation package and is determined within a range. The pay range is designed to support your career progression as you learn, grow, and develop within your role. Your base pay range will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

San Carlos, CA Base Pay
$125,000$135,000 USD
