Jordi Tortosa Lapuente

Jordi Tortosa Lapuente has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Jordi has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

From 2000 to 2004, Jordi worked as a Senior Radio Engineer at Al-Pi Telecomunicacions, where they were responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions for radio networks. Jordi also provided operational procedures and support to the marketing department.

From 2004 to 2008, they worked at Orange Business Services as a Presales Engineer and later as a Senior Network Engineer. In these roles, they designed and implemented technical solutions, provided operational procedures, and supported the marketing department in promoting and delivering strategic services.

From 2008 to 2012, Jordi served as a Contract Manager and later as a Project Manager at CTTI - Centre de Telecomunicacions i Tecnologies de la Informació. Jordi was responsible for preparing and awarding public tenders and implementing projects related to the Xarxa Oberta project. Jordi also managed financial and quality control aspects of the projects.

From 2012 to 2014, Jordi worked at Telefónica as a Controller, where they carried out financial control activities.

From 2014 to 2020, they returned to Xarxa Oberta de Catalunya as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Technical Officer (CTO). In this role, they were responsible for the overall direction and management of the Operations area, including engineering, IT, provisioning, NOC, and quality. Jordi achieved significant budget savings, reduced OPEX of main providers, and led improvement projects.

From 2019 to 2022, Jordi joined Cellnex Telecom as Head of Fiber Optic Connectivity Engineering, Head of Connectivity Engineering, and later as Head of Technology & Planning. Jordi was responsible for various technical and planning aspects of the company's operations.

In 2023, Jordi will join Xarxa Oberta de Catalunya again, this time as a Gerente.

Jordi Tortosa Lapuente completed the Programa de Dirección General (PDG) from IESE Business School in 2024. Prior to that, they graduated with a degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2000. Jordi is also certified as a Colegiado COIT by COIT AEIT Colegio Oficial y Asociación Española de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, obtained in 2021.
