Jeremy Schaefer has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Jeremy started their career in 1996 as a Research Associate at Parke Davis, where they evaluated anticancer agents in mouse models of cancer. In 2007, they joined The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as a Postdoctoral Fellow, studying cytokine dysregulation in the interleukin 10 knockout mouse model of colitis. Jeremy also investigated the role of non-coding RNAs and their association with intestinal inflammation. In 2012, they became an Instructor at the university, leading research on miRNAs and their role in inflammatory bowel disease. From 2012 to 2018, they served as an Assistant Professor, focusing on the mucosal immune system and its impact on chronic diseases. Currently, they are working as a Research and Development Scientist at Celltex Therapeutics Corporation.
Jeremy Schaefer attended the University of Michigan from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Following that, they pursued further education at Baylor College of Medicine from 1999 to 2007, earning a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology.
