Alex Johnson, P.Eng. has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. Alex is currently serving as the Director of AUV Products at Cellula Robotics Ltd. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the development and management of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) products. Prior to this, they worked as the AUV Product Manager and Project Manager at the same company.

Before joining Cellula Robotics, Alex worked at International Submarine Engineering Ltd. for over a decade. Alex held the position of Mechanical Department Manager, where they successfully managed various underwater vehicle projects and led the design, fabrication, assembly, analysis, and testing of mechanical and electro-mechanical components for AUVs and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).

Alex also gained valuable experience as a Co-op Student at Roboweld and Kelsan Technologies Corporation. During their time at Roboweld, they contributed to project organization and worked on the design of a laser range finder bracket for an automated welding robot. At Kelsan Technologies, they created assembly manuals and conducted tests for an automated lubrication spray system.

Alex Johnson, P.Eng. obtained a BASc degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Mechatronics Option from The University of British Columbia in the years 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their education at Kitsilano Secondary School, earning a Bilingual Dogwood Diploma between 1998 and 2003. In addition to their education, they also hold certifications such as the BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) from Falck, obtained in October 2018, and a Pleasure Craft Operator Card from the Canadian Coast Guard/Garde côtière canadienne, obtained in 2001.
