Alessandro Scandurra

Alessandro Scandurra has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alessandro is currently the Director of Business Development at Celtarys Research, where they started in March 2022. Prior to this, they were the CSO & co-founder at Startquake S.L. starting from January 2021. From January 2020 to February 2022, Alessandro worked as the Manager Business Development-Protein Simple at Bio-Techne. Before that, they were the EMEA/LATAM Distributor Manager at Abcam from July 2018 to January 2020. In 2018, they briefly worked as the Business Development Manager at Novoptim. Alessandro's earlier experiences include working as a Products Specialist at Merck Group from May 2015 to December 2017, a Doctoral Fellow at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from October 2010 to December 2014, a Doctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis in September-November 2014, and a Doctoral Researcher at the Institute de Biologie Structurale (IBS) in September-November 2013. Alessandro also served as a Graduate Student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in June-September 2010.

Alessandro Scandurra has an extensive education history in the field of biological sciences and biotechnologies. They obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biological Science from the Università degli Studi di Torino, where they studied from 2001 to 2007. Following this, Scandurra pursued a Master's degree in Marine Biology at the Università degli Studi di Trieste, completing their studies from 2008 to 2010.

Continuing their academic journey, Scandurra enrolled at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2010. They initially obtained a Master's degree in Agroforestal Biotechnologies, completing their studies within a year. Building on this foundation, Scandurra went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Biotechnologies, specializing in Biotechnology and Plant Genetic Resources Microorganism. They successfully completed their Ph.D. studies in 2014 at the same institution.
