Debra Maes

Debra Maes has extensive experience in energy education and environmental studies, currently serving as an Energy Education Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools since July 2019 and as an Energy Specialist at Cenergistic since June 2014. Previously, Debra contributed to the environmental education sector as an Environmental Studies Educator at Fairfax County Public Schools from September 2007 to June 2014, where a notable achievement included integrating a multidisciplinary Sustainability Program for K-6 students and securing over $10,000 in grants for the program. Debra's background also includes management experience from 1985 to 1995 with Jennie Cook's Catering & Plant Based Parties and an early career as a Video Journalist at CNN from 1980 to 1983. Debra holds a degree from Sweet Briar College, obtained between 1976 and 1980.
