Jimmy S.

Jimmy S. serves as the Senior Director of Government Affairs at Cengage Group since January 2023, leading state government relations strategy and managing a team of lobbyists to align advocacy efforts with business objectives in higher education and K-12. Previously, Jimmy built the government affairs program at BookNook as Vice President of Public Policy, and held significant roles at Western Governors University, including Chief of Staff and Director of Public Policy, where strategic legislative initiatives were developed. Additional experience includes positions with the Ohio Department of Education, Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and the Office of Ohio Governor John R. Kasich, focusing on education policy and government relations. Jimmy holds a JD from Capital University Law School and a BA from Denison University.
