Joel Christiansen

Joel Christiansen is a seasoned geoscience professional with over a decade of experience at Cenovus Energy, currently serving as Senior Manager of Geological Development. In this role, Joel leads a team of 20 geoscience experts to enhance resource development across multiple thermal assets, aiming to maintain significant oil production levels. Previous positions at Cenovus include Manager of Geological Optimization, where Joel successfully oversaw production optimization efforts for over 10 geoscience professionals, and Lead of Geological Operations, managing the planning and execution of a major well drilling program. Earlier career experiences include consulting roles at K.C. Waunch Petroleum Consultants and environmental work at Trace Associates Inc. Joel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology with a Petroleum Concentration from the University of Calgary.
