Kurtis Staup is an experienced engineer with a diverse background in fixed equipment reliability and mechanical integrity. Currently serving as a Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer at Cenovus Energy since October 2021, Kurtis focuses on KPI development and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to enhance operational reliability in the refinery. Previously, as a Mechanical Integrity Specialist at INEOS Nitriles, a Maintenance Engineer and Project Manager at INEOS, and a Maintenance Engineer at Fort Amanda Specialties, Kurtis emphasized safety and reliability for various plant equipment. Early career experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Toledo Molding and Die provided foundational skills while completing a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo. Additional qualifications include a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Florida Atlantic University, a Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Michigan, and a Master's degree in Motorsports Engineering from Monlau Repsol Technical School.
