Ásgeir Daniel Hallgrímsson

Machine Learning Engineer & Data Scientist at Centaflow

Ásgeir Daniel Hallgrímsson has a diverse work experience across multiple industries. Ásgeir Daniel is currently a Machine Learning Engineer & Data Scientist at Centaflow since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a PhD Student at the Department of Electrical Engineering at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from August 2017 to January 2021. During their PhD, they focused on developing a deep learning-based method for unsupervised diagnosis of faults in industrial process systems. Ásgeir Daniel also worked as a Master Thesis Student at MAN Diesel & Turbo from January 2017 to July 2017, where they developed a deep learning-based supervised method to detect and isolate faults in a large-bore two-stroke diesel engine.

Before pursuing their PhD, Ásgeir worked as a Student Helper/Programmer at OFS from March 2016 to March 2017. Ásgeir Daniel also gained experience as a Programming Specialist at Landsbankinn in 2015, where they assisted in the development of a new core banking system using C#. In 2014, they worked as a Researcher at Össur, conducting research on the effects of varying the stiffness of transtibial prosthesis used by transtibial amputees. Ásgeir Daniel performed analysis using AnyBody Tech.

Ásgeir started their career in the banking sector, working at Landsbankinn from May 2012 to August 2013. Overall, they have developed expertise in machine learning, data science, fault diagnosis, and programming.

Ásgeir Daniel Hallgrímsson has a diverse education history that spans multiple institutions and fields of study. Ásgeir Daniel started their education journey in 2008 at the International School of Brussels, where they pursued an IB Diploma with an emphasis in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

In 2011, Ásgeir enrolled at Háskóli Íslands, where they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2014. Following this, they attended Reykjavik University from 2014 to 2015 and obtained another Bachelor's Degree, this time in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Ásgeir enrolled at DTU - Technical University of Denmark in 2015. During their time there, they completed a Master's Degree in Automation and Control Systems, which concluded in 2017. Ásgeir Daniel furthered their studies at DTU and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering in 2020.

Throughout their education, Ásgeir has gained extensive knowledge in various fields, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, and automation and control systems.
