Wendy Welch

Wendy Welch, MD, MBA, serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Behavioral Health at Centene Corporation, leading behavioral health strategy and utilization management. Prior roles include Medical Director of Behavioral Health for Nebraska Total Care and Chief Medical Officer at Cardinal Innovations Healthcare, where responsibility encompassed extensive behavioral health integration for a large Medicaid population. Wendy also contributes as a Distinguished Mentor for the Master of Science in Clinical Informatics Management program at Stanford University School of Medicine and was a Co-Editor for The ASAM Criteria. Experienced in various roles across medical education and clinical practice, Wendy has a background in child and adolescent psychiatry, having held academic positions at Virginia Commonwealth University and Florida State University. Educational credentials include a medical degree from the University of Florida, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and advanced training in psychiatry from the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
