Matheus Pimenta

Matheus Pimenta is an experienced underground mining engineer currently serving at Centennial since July 2023. Previously, Matheus held prominent positions at AngloGold Ashanti as Rock Mechanics Manager, overseeing geotechnical engineering teams and enhancing safety and production in high-stress underground mines, and as an Underground Mining Engineer, coordinating daily underground gold mining operations. Matheus also worked at Carbonífera Catarinense, managing underground coal mining activities, and was involved in various capacities at SOMAR, conducting mine planning and exploration. Early career experiences include research and teaching roles at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and specialized internships focused on mine ventilation and geomechanics. Matheus is pursuing further education with a Diploma of Education in Underground Mining Management.
