Laura Wood

Laura Wood is currently the Director of Student Community and Engagement at Centennial College. Laura previously held the position of Director of Safety Abroad & Assistant Director of Students at the University of Toronto from February 2014 to January 2015. In this role, they led a team of 20 and was responsible for managing student travel risk, overseeing mobility programs, and spearheading a program review with the Science without Borders program team. Laura also has experience working in international student services, having worked as the Director of International Programs and Services at the Rotman School of Management from November 2006 to August 2012. In this role, they were responsible for developing the school's international strategy, building external relations infrastructure, and collaborating across internal and external departments to design new experiential mobility programs. Laura is a skilled leader with extensive experience in developing and implementing international programs and initiatives.

After completing their undergraduate degree at Queen's University, Laura Wood pursued a master's degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge. Laura is currently a certified administrator from IDI, LLC and a qualified facilitator of the Global Competence Certificate from the Global Competence Certificate. Laura will be presenting at CAPS-I's 2021 Virtual Conference on 'Responsibility & Sustainability in International Education'.
