Valeria Allende is currently the Executive Assistant and Deputy Director of the Next Generation National Security Leaders Fellowship at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) since April 2022. Previous experience includes serving as an Executive Assistant in the Bureau of Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of State and holding various roles such as Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for the City of Santa Fe Springs, as well as a Research and Content-Writing Intern with Leaders of Tomorrow. Valeria also interned with the U.S. House of Representatives. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in US Foreign Policy and National Security from American University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/International Affairs and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from the University of California, Riverside.
