Alla Polyakova has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Starting in 2007, they worked as a Development Assistant at the Youth Renewal Fund. In 2008, they joined IREX as a Program Associate for a brief period. Alla then transitioned to the role of Program Assistant/Project Manager at The Chicago Community Trust, where they worked from 2008 to 2012. Following this, Alla became a Program Management Specialist at The Henry L. Stimson Center from 2012 to 2014. Alla then joined the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), where they served as a Pro Bono Innovation Fund/Disaster Relief Program Analyst from 2014 to 2018. After that, they worked at The Brookings Institution, initially as a Senior Financial Manager from 2018 to 2021, and then as an Assistant Director of Finance from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Alla holds the position of Director of Budget, Planning, and Forecasting at the Center for American Progress from 2022 onwards.
Alla Polyakova has a Bachelor's of Arts degree in International Relations (honors) from New York University. Additionally, they have pursued further education at Saint Petersburg State University, where they received a Russian Language Boren Fellowship from the National Security Education Program. Alla Polyakova has also obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from George Mason University.
