Christina Shepherd (Christy)

Christina (Christy) Shepherd is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in English language instruction and curriculum development. Currently serving as the Kindergarten Test Development Manager and Kindergarten Language Testing Specialist at the Center for Applied Linguistics since September 2022, Christina previously held significant roles at the Virginia Department of Education, including Curriculum Enhancement Expert and EL Resource Developer, where responsibilities included reviewing instructional materials and developing resources for English learners. Prior teaching experience includes roles as an EL Teacher at Roanoke City Public Schools and an ESL Teacher at Manassas City Public Schools, focusing on student assessment and lesson planning. Christina holds a Bachelor of Science in Teaching English as a Second Language from Liberty University and completed the Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Communications and Human Relations in 2016.
