Dick Kean has extensive experience in civic education and history, currently serving as the Wyoming Project Citizen Coordinator at the Center for Civic Education since 2001, where responsibilities include providing curriculum and professional growth opportunities for Wyoming teachers. Kean has also held the position of Senior Consultant, offering feedback on curriculum and leading professional development for civic education instructors. Additionally, Kean is the Wyoming History Day State Coordinator at the American Heritage Center, coordinating the History Day Program and overseeing its growth alongside district coordinators. Previously, Kean was a Social Studies Instructor at Laramie County School District #1 for 28 years, teaching various historical subjects. Kean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Benedictine College.
